Ashampoo Photo Card adds extra value to your best shots by transforming them into stunning and fun greeting cards and postcards. The program comes in an intuitive and attractive interface that includes a wide range of templates that cover nearly any theme you can think of. Besides, it allows you to correct and enhance your photographs in the process.
As source, you can use either an already existing image file or capture a new one using your webcam. The selected image will be automatically placed into a default greeting card whose template you can change at any time. Once you are happy with the theme selected, you may want to perform the necessary adjustments. You can easily move and rotate the image with a few mouse movements until it fits in the space provided within the template. You can also edit the image itself, and adjust its contrast, brightness, and saturation values, and then add some extra elements to enhance your work of art. These elements can be textual (what’s a greeting card without a greeting message!) or graphical, such as any of the incredible list of clipart images provided or just another one of your photographs.
Building your greeting card is truly a fun task that will unlock your creative side. Trying the plethora of graphical and textual elements that you can add to your creations will keep you busy for a while. That is why Ashampoo Photo Card has added an extra step to the creation process – a “What to do with the card?” final window where you can share your work of art either by uploading it to Ashampoo Web, Facebook, and Picasa, or by attaching it to a new e-mail message. Alternatively, you can also save it to disk for further use or copy it to the clipboard and insert it into another document.
The entire creation process is easy and intuitive, though it still has room for improvement. Actually, once you have created the card and have therefore arrived at the share-your-card stage, you cannot go back to perform any adjustments – if you need to edit your card further you will need to re-open it and go to the editing window to make your changes. A simple “Go back” button would easily solve the problem.
In spite of this minor flaw, Ashampoo Photo Card is a fun utility that I can highly recommend to anyone who likes sharing their favorite photos in a less conventional way.
